The list of amazing Math and Reading apps for young children is seemingly endless. A new and amazing development seems to hit the market each week. The same cannot be said, however, for Science apps. In our quest to teach kids the academic basics, science (and social studies, but that is the subject of a future post ...) is all too often left behind. That's why we were so excited to discover about these great new offerings!
Zachy the Robot: Quest for the Museum Treasures
Developed in partnership with the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Zachy the Robot: Quest for the Museum Treasures offers young players the perfect blend of science and fun to guarantee an engaging learning experience. Kids are able to join Zachy the Robot and his many friends as they travel around the world to build the perfect new exhibits for the Robocity Museum of Natural History. Their "research" will include 29 dinosaurs, ranging from the familiar T-Rex to the very unfamiliar Tianyulong and Cryolophosaurus (see, I already learned something!), mining for and learning about 17 minerals, and various digs for invertebrate and plant fossils. Simply put, this app's educational potential at home and in the classroom is amazing!
