Yummy Thanksgiving Crafting

Thanksgiving will be here in no time which means two things - time off of school and yummy indulgence (besides being thankful of course!).  These rice crispy treat turkeys are the perfect deliciously crafty way to fill some of that free time,  and I guarantee they will be a crowd pleaser.

You will need ...

  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 package (10 oz., about 40) regular marshmallow or 4 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 6 cups rice crispies cereal
  • Directions

    1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.

    2. Add rice crispies cereal. Stir until well coated.

    3. Using 1/4-cup measuring cup coated with cooking spray divide warm cereal mixture into 24 portions. Using buttered hands shape each portion into ball.  Place on wax-paper-lined baking sheet. Refrigerate about 10 minutes or until firm.

    4. After that it's up to the kids!  They can add gummy bears, candy corn, pretzels, marshmallows, and so much more.  The sky is the limit!  But just in case, I've posted a few perfectly adorable rice crispie turkey treats for inspiration.
